PRODUCT DETAILS

The Pro Chef Block is made of 100% solid northern hard rock maple. Made to professional standards, this classic butcher block features the same design used to build chef's blocks in the late 1800s. Standing nearly 3 ft tall on four gently tapered legs, this butcher block is the ideal height for food preparation. It includes a wood knife holder with a blade shield so you can keep frequently used knives within easy reach. You can also add optional locking caster wheels that let you move the butcher block easily and keep it securely in place when positioned. Built to last for generations, this butcher block is a smart choice and worthy investment for the serious chef or culinary enthusiast. For the style-minded cook, the warmth of the Pro Chef Block's solid wood construction and end-grain work surface make a lovely addition to any kitchen.

The Pro Chef Block features a 10-inch thick butcher block of solid hard rock maple wood fused using end-grain construction. End-grain construction is a harder, more durable construction that is also easier on knives; during cutting or chopping, the end grain wood fibers absorb the impact of the blade, which keeps knives sharper longer. The malleable and forgiving end grain surface is resistant to nicks and gouges, which prevents bacteria from entering the wood, keeps the board looking new longer and increases its longevity. The work surface features the standard Boos Block Cream Finish with Beeswax, to seal and protect the wood. The Boos block cream penetrates deeply into the grains of the wood, leaving a silky wax barrier to lock moisture in, and allows your board to be used as a cutting surface. This finish can be maintained with John Boos Mystery Oil or Boos Board Cream.

The Pro Chef Block comes in several lengths and widths. All units stand 34 inches tall and all blocks are ten inches deep. Each block includes a wood knife holder with a blade shield. The base, shown above in Natural Maple, is also available in a variety of beautiful colors. Commercial grade locking caster wheels are optional. Please use the drop down menus above to select the size and options that are right for you.
