It comes in handy when you're cooking for a crowd, and need extra work and preparation space, but it also gives you much-needed storage space, helping you keep your kitchen organized and your pots, utensils, and tools ready to hand. Below the food-safe oil-finish top is a large self-supporting pull-out cutting board that can double as a temporary shelf. Flush with the cutting board is a knife rack where you can store frequently used knives. Below the cutting board is a handy drawer, perfect for stowing utensils and gadgets. All of these top a three-shelf cabinet (two of the shelves are adjustable) behind sturdy solid hardwood doors. A towel rack, handy for hanging tools or a dishrag, does double duty as a handle, which makes moving the Cook's Workcenter a breeze. Locking heavy-duty casters keep the cart securely in place when positioned.

The design of the Cook's Kitchen Island Workcenter is simplicity itself. The drawer's face and the cabinet doors fit flush to the body of the workcenter. The workcenter's top, drawer, door and legs are made from Northeastern hardwood, as are its interior braces. Its sides, shelves and back panel are made of carefully matched warp-resistant hardwood veneer. The handles and the towel rack have a silky satin nickel finish.
