MANUFACTURER INFO
The high-quality food service products manufactured by John Boos & Company are used by many celebrity chefs and have been featured on The Food Network. A staple in the commercial cooking industry since the early 20th century, John Boos and Company prides itself on the quality, craftsmanship and safety of all its products. Only the finest wood and steel are used in the manufacturing process and all products are made in the USA. A past recipient of the Gold Medal for Excellence in Foodservice Equipment, John Boos and Company is a leading manufacturer of residential and commercial chopping blocks, cutting boards and stainless steel tables. John Boos & Co is firmly committed to managing environmental matters as an integral part of their business practice. Some of the steps they take to accomplish their "green" status include manufacturing wood products that emit far less carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, methane and other gases than processing non-wood substitutes; using only formaldehyde free and low emission formaldehyde gluing processes in manufacturing our butcher blocks; and having active recycling programs in place with 95% of all raw materials, scrap, and even their sawdust recycled as fuel to heat their kilns. Boos' sawdust is also recycled as livestock bedding for their local agricultural needs.PLEASE NOTE...
If you would like caster wheels with your table, please be sure to add them to your order when you make your purchase. This item is made to order. When caster wheels are added to an order at the time of purchase the legs are pre-drilled and cut in production to accept the casters. You will not be able to easily obtain or add caster wheels to your table separately at a later date, so if you think you will want casters with your table, please use the drop down menu above to include them with your order. This butcher block table comes with a Varnique semi-gloss finish that seals and protects the wood. The Varnique finish gives the piece a fine furniture look and eases maintenance, but is not meant to be cut upon directly. If you require a cutting surface, we recommend these options: 1) You can purchase a separate butcher block cutting board to use atop the surface of the Metro Center. We have many butcher block cutting boards to choose from. 2) You can sand off the Varnique semi-gloss finish from the top of the table (while leaving it on the sides) using a piece of fine steel wool. (Please consult a finish carpenter if you have questions about how this is best done.) If you choose to sand off the surface of the table, you will need to then oil the surface and maintain it as you would an oil finish butcher block. The dimensions of this item allow for 1/8" tolerance. This item requires assembly.
All John Boos products are covered by a 1-year warranty against defects in material and workmanship.
