The Gathering Block is a gourmet chef's dream, featuring a solid Northern rock maple end grain butcher block top over beautifully carved and finished legs. Made to suit the exacting standards of professional chefs, this butcher block also has a stylish design that adds warmth and variety to the residential kitchen. Multiple color choices are available for the base, allowing you to match the Gathering Block to your existing decor. Towels and other items can be stowed in the convenient wicker basket drawer, which can be pulled out from either side of the block. Additional storage is available below on the slatted wood shelf. Built to withstand the test of time, the Gathering Block is a solid, durable, high-quality chef's accessory and kitchen furniture piece that will last for generations to come.

The Gathering Block features a 4" thick Northern Hard Rock Maple butcher block with end-grain construction. The end-grain work surface is easy on knives; during cutting or chopping, the end grain wood fibers absorb the impact of the blade, which keeps knives sharper longer. The malleable and forgiving end grain surface is resistant to nicks and gouges, which prevents bacteria from entering the wood, keeps the board looking new longer and increases its longevity. The surface of the Gathering Block features a Boos Block Cream Finish with Beeswax that penetrates deeply into the grains of the wood, leaving a silky wax barrier to lock moisture in. This finish can be maintained with John Boos Mystery Oil or Boos Board Cream.
