Sling Log Rack

The Sling Rack presents a striking profile and a gracefully curved kindling shelf capped with scrolls, the simplest and oldest of forger’s design details. Although it holds a generous three cubic feet of logs or split firewood, it takes up just over a single square foot of space on the hearth.

Wrought by hand of heavy-gauge hot-rolled steel, the Sling Rack is finished with a rich distressed patina protected by a high-density scratch-resistant coating designed to stand up to cord after cord. Sturdy feet lift the Sling Rack up off the hearth, making sweeping beneath it a breeze.

The Sling Rack comes with an optional tool bar and set of fireplace tools. The fireplace tools include a shovel, a poker, and a traditional sorghum hearth broom. (Sorghum brooms, made from the long tassels of a plant related to sugarcane, were invented late in the 18th century by a Massachusetts farmer who went on to invent a machine to manufacture them—an important event in the Industrial Revolution.)
